2022 APLD International Landscape Design Awards

The summer season is rounding off on a spectacular note around here for our crew and their clients!

Our Exteriors Outdoor Styling team recently partnered with GreenHeart LLC, and we are delighted to report that the project was selected for a 2022 APLD International Landscape Design GOLD award!

As a partner to Cathy Carr of GreenHeart Design LLC, we were able to transform this backyard for a more cohesive feel and created a seamless entertainment space. Inspired by architect Norman Foster’s Kogod Courtyard, the ceiling soars above the home’s existing roof. Retractable screens, as much as 14 feet wide, allow for maximum outdoor/indoor living, whether open or closed to exclude bugs. And what backyard is complete without a grilling area and new plantings to complete the setting?

Exteriors Outdoor Styling participated in the selection of fixtures and finishes, specified and placed exterior furnishings, and designed a number of exquisite container plantings to complement the home’s interiors. GreenHeart designed the free-standing pavilion within a hot, exposed travertine courtyard to better connect house, courtyard and swimming pool, create shade, and exclude bugs when needed. Our symbiotic collaboration resulted in a beautiful and functional outdoor living space.
